The Glad is looking suitably grubby and brilliant.

Nice work on the Roden one too.

Have fun with the Porsche when it arrives.

Thanks Alistair,  got a panel line wash on the Sea Gladiator last night, will clean off tonight.  Be able to get the rail rigging on then and start on the struts.

Getting excited now , patiently waiting🙄

Thanks Roger, I remember your lovely Gladiator build.  I have the 72nd Airfix Mk.2 with the same scheme. I have used the instructions myself for stencil placement.  I looked at the photo of N5524 as I wondered if it would look darker below the initial camouflage over the sky grey incase it looked similar to the scheme on KW-T but there is no discernable difference so maybe the whole fuselage painted.

I have yet to still check for the Mk.1 to see if shadowed or not, just not had time🙄

Thanks guys

Thanks Alistair,  very kind. Pleased with the oil wash but it doesn't show up the as well in the pics as it does in the flesh so to speak.

I dip for a few months and come back to 80 more pages of FAA builds! Chris, you've gotta slow down 🤣
As usual they're all looking great, especially that last Martlet and the Sea Gladiator here. I need to make a point of doing a Sea Gladiator sometime but the fact Airfix didn't make one out of their 1/72 kit bewilders me. Then again, both times I've bought that kit I got a different canopy... Very unusual for a company I've never had a hint of an issue with otherwise.
Looking forward to more - Tweener

😄 Thanks Tweener, very pleased with them. The ICM Gladiator is absolutely superb and goes together a treat.

The Martlet us pretty much finished now, just need to take some pieces later.

Yes that is odd about the 72nd Airfix kit.  why have they not added a Sea Gladiator .

I have another project using two Airfix Gladiator kits and converting to N5520 at each of the three stages of its career,  assembled from the crate with the original prop, then the Blenheim prop addition and then taken back into NAS service with the camouflage extended down the sides as per N5524 above.

Got the Blenheim props from SBS and used the Sword Sea Gladiator for the arrestor hook recess,  don't need to worry about the hook as they did not carry them in the defence of Malta.

Should be a fun project.

Thanks guys

Is N5520 the one that received a full Blenheim cowling at one point? I recall there were 1-2 that did but not much beyond that. SBS props are a beauty in either case, I've grabbed some for my eventual Super-Build 1/48 Blenheim. That'll have SBS engines and props, Eduard Panel, Quinta decals and belts, Gaspatch guns and probably a few other details I'm forgetting. Now I just have to decide which Finnish scheme to go for.

Not sure if N5520 or N5519 got the full works the remaining Sea Gladiators in Malta all had Blenheim props by Jan 1941.  So that is good enough for my builds😉

Yes SBS do some cracking stuff and I have their props for a 48th Blenheim build too. Used them on my 72nd Blenheim and they look lovely.

That will be a cracking Blenheim build with all your extras.   Looking forward to it.

In the meantime, '5524 is looking superb! This is going to be a yardstick build.

No, it's really shoddy that one....

Chris, you're far too modest, that is just stunning, another real little cracker - once again absolutely brilliant paint and weathering, and all without the hassle of cleaning an airbrush!! :nodding:

Top job (again!)

Thanks Roger, a lovely kit to build . Really enjoyed it. I tried adding some thinned darker spots on the paintwork on this one which adds to the overall appearance.

Tganks for following too fella always appreciated.

😄 Thanks Keith,  very kind.  Yes no airbrush to clean.  Although when airbrushing you will be able to get all coats down in a quick time, but brushing takes longer as the coats need to dry thoroughly before you painf ived otherwise you can drag off the previous coat🙄

Tgankd got following along too , I do appreciate it.

No you have mot missed it Keith , it is awaiting attention on the shelf of doom . I did keep looking at it and when the Gladiator gets done I might have to pick up again. Not sure shy I shelved it, was a bit concerned about the lower wing fitting and all the fiddly bits.

Thanks for your interest in that one Keith, I will endeavour to get it underway again.

Thanks guys

Chris
