A hundred pages thread, did you receive an invitation from Buckingham palace ?? Great job Chris, nice to see the Seafire back on tracks or wings.... And the Beau is a gem too !! I'll put my feeble brush painting skill to the challenge.... Soon.... Congrats my friend !! Sincerely. CC 😄 I like that, a visit to the castle, I think my invite got lost in the post CC 🙄. Pleased with the Beaufighter although after doing the lovely Dallachy Beaufighter, my enthusiasm has waned slightly. The Seafire is pleasing. It certainly has been an interesting one to assemble. , just finishing the fettling and will be getting on some paint very soon. Although another distraction has come along in the form if an Alvis 6 wheeled Crash tender too🙄, I am really enjoying that little beastie. keefr22
In addition to black magic brush painting skills Chris you have an extremely steady hand to be able to overpaint 72nd scale code letters so neatly - they look enormous in those pics, but we know they ain't....!! Great work again! Keith 1

bigbadbadge
Hi all I have done a little bit, here and there, but have not been feeling well with a stomach bug that has so far lasted for 4 days although the last two days I have been feeling a bit better, so spent some time at the bench. I am a bit gutted as I have been trying to work on the Fastback this week so booked leave and so far not been able to do much at all🙄 Seafire has had a first coat of Sky on the underside Beaufighter Mk.II has had the undercarriage legs worked on, I believe that the framework is something to do with opening and shutting the undercarriage doors??? Brake lines added to the inside leg only as thos has tge spoked outer hubs. Will finish the glueing of the flexipipes and paint it all up later. Quite pleased with that. I apologise as I have also been distracted buy this lovely little 72nd scale Alvis Salamander so although not allowed, I would adda couple of cheeky pics as not been doing a WIP for this. The Suspension and Steering components are incredible and there are 19 parts to each side!!! I have added drive shafts from brass rod. Feeling slightly sorry for myself, I decided to treat myself to the following, the TT has already arrived and the Grand Pheonix, kit which I built at the start of this thread was purchased late this afternoon , timed to arrive after SWMBO'S day off on Monday Looking forward to tackling these Thanks for looking in Chris

Pleased with the undercarriage legs, I could only find one or two pics of this so am pleased with how the have turned out. I have a few Fireflys to build now, I would love to get hold of a 32nd scale one, that would be impressive. Chris

Unfortunately they are like mythical beasts, Panther Model Club did one vacform, resin and White metal kit, not been available for a long time and doubt I would be able to afford, SWMBO would certainly have something to say🙄 The other was a Tigger models Vacform, but again not any about. Turns out all okay as have a urinry infection, phew, so relieved, wastbinking appendicitis at least and some dark at worst. I was told i can eat normal ish foods softer a week of dry toast and occasional scrambled eggs, I cooked spaghetti rings and chicken nuggets when I got in, was like a feast!!! The TT Firefly, I have wanted for ages and thought I would treat myself feeling low and the Grand Pheonix kit I built before and really enjoyed so that snuck in the basket too. I totally empathise Chris, I've been on much the same 'diet' the last two days with a flippin' stomach bug (& like you not for the first time this year ) - hope you get over it very soon. Good that you had a bit of luck winning those raffles though....!! 🤣 (model club mate uses the same ruse after Telford each year - he's even bought a book of the little number tickets to stick on the kits...!!) That's some neat work with the brass on the Beau's legs! Keith 1

The raffle prizes are good SWMBO discovered the raffle ticket book the other day and I went ooooooo I didn't know we had a book of raffle tickets, she went hmmmm and put them back ( I styled it out) 😄 it was a great idea I saw on here years ago, you can't use it too often though otherwise you get rumbled🙄 Thanks Keith, pleased with the UC legs once all painted up they should look good. Hope you feel better soon. Chris

opus999
Chris, I'm really sorry that you've got a stomach bug that just won't quit. For me stomach bugs are the absolute worst things to have. I hope it goes away soon! Edit: somehow I skipped over the entry where you found out what you have. That's a relief! Maybe you'll get better more quickly.
