I know it's not an FAA build but I showed the cockpit for this Spitfire earlier in the thread so just finally got it over the line in time for the end of the year and so can go into the year book.

Quite pleased with it slthough a bit of a rush to finish.

This is a Mk.II Spitfire made from the Airfix Mk.1, with the addition of the cofman starter blister, blunt spinner and prop.  I uses the seat in hhe conversion as much better than the kit one and also the control column.

Spitfire Mk.IIa P8522 RF-W of 303 (Polish)Sqn RAF Northolt in June/July 1941.

A belated happy New Year to you and yours.

Cheers,

Thanks Mark, glad to have got that one finished, took me to 14 this year, would have been 15 but just could get my GWR bogie bolster weathered suitably so just missed out, that can go in the 2024 yearbook instead 🙄

Happy new year to you and yours too Mark

As usual I'm very late to the party Chris - a lovely little Spit to round off the year!

Hope 2024 is a happy, healthy and peaceful one for you and yours - and let's hope it's a bit drier too....!! :)

Thanks Keith,  pleased to clear another from the stash😄

Thanks fella, hope you can have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year  and 2024 is a great year for modelling too.

Yes could do without all the rain and the wind here is just relentless,  been high for what seems ages, so noisey and annoying.

Thanks

Hi all

Whilst waiting forctge paintvto harden off on the Dallachy Beaufighter build, i have made some further progress on the Beaufighter Mk.II

The DSG was applied and some fading done and the first coat of EDSG brushed on

A second coat of EDSG

Will fade the EDSG and paint in the cockpit and light frames and then look at decalling and weathering.

Thanks for looking in

The Mk.II is looking absolutely superb, Chris - your painting skills never fail to mightily impress!

For some reason, I've not kept up with the progress on the Dallachy Beaufighter, so I need to do a bit of a catch up :)

Looking good Chris. What an absolute brute of a plane that Beaufighter is. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

Thanks Mike, yes it certainly was, do love the look of the aircraft and with the Merlins it look great.

Great stuff Chris.

This is shaping up to be one of your best. Your mastery of brush painting is amazing, you get results that I can only get (near) with an airbrush.

Thanks Charlie, that's very kind.  I have seen your paintwork it's fantastic , I sometimes wish I airbrushed to be able to achieve some great effects, but the masking puts me off😄

Thanks
