Foxbat
I'm doing an Indonesian A-4E Skyhawk for the STGB and I'm struggling with colours. The FCM decal instructions give the camo as Light Blue Grey (FS 36307), Medium Blue (FS 35184) and Light Brown (FS 36306). Changing the blue to FS 35164 (...84 gave no results) gives me Vallejo 884 (Stone grey), 903 (Intermediate blue) and 987 (Medium grey) - no brown at all The first two colours look to be right, so can anyone with better references or more finely tuned Google-fu point me at the right brown? Thanks in advance. Andy
WARDOG
Hi Andy, Don't know if it is in the FS system or not but try 33307. In the FS system, the first number is the "sheen" i.e., 1 - Gloss, 2 - Semi-gloss, and 3 - Flat. The second number would be the tone (my word, for lack of a better memory!) where 5 = Blues, 6 = Grays, and 3 = Browns, 4 = Greens, etc. Give it a shot until someone comes up with a concise answer. Cheers, WARDOG Edited May 8, 2021 by WARDOG Corrections
Nebbor
The FCM suggested colors seem to be OK, finding model paint equivalents is something else. In the online FCM instructions the grey is stated as 36495, not 36307: FS36495 http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=36495 FS36306 http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=36306 FS35184 http://www.colorserver.net/showcolor.asp?fs=35184 There is a build on ARC that uses Gunze C338, Gunze EC-20 and Testors 2132: https://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal12/11701-11800/gal11762-A-4-Sidharta/00.shtm Edit: FS36306 is close to RAL7030 Stone Grey FS35184 is close to Flanker blue/grey FS36495 is readily available Edited May 8, 2021 by Nebbor

I saw that build on ARC but I can't track down what colour EC-20 is, Google is no help at all It's colour P, the light brown that is causing the problem; the profile on the FCM instructions shows it as light brown and the reference panel lists it as light brown. I'll try Stone Grey and see what it looks like Andy
Blimpyboy
I don't know what colour references this chap recommends, but it may be worth giving him a hail - he may have some personally-gathered material: https://www.facebook.com/CapJempolMetal/?ref=page_internal You may even be able to get a bunch of his decals!
