Adam Poultney
I think this GB needs a more catchy or interesting title... Maybe "Chop and Change GB " or "Plastic Butchery GB", open to suggestions because if there's one thing I'm terrible at, it's naming things
bootneck
That sound like a good idea and I'm sure would gain extra attention Adam. How about Hack and Slash? Mike specialising in hack, slash, bin, repeat.

Sounds like a Hallowe'en themed GB 😄 Although it would be an accurate description of my attempts to cut resin conversion pieces away from casting blocks.... 😈 Edited October 18, 2021 by Tim R-T-C

CliffB
Yes please Adam. I've got a 1/100 AH-64A kit that I'd like to convert to a Longbow using bits from a Revell Easykit (don't ask....). Cheers
825
I've an old Airfix Westland Scout and an Air Graphics conversion set to turn it in to a Wasp. So this will be my choice. The GB will give me the impetus to get started.
Marklo
Well I’m definitely still in. As far as I can see 2022 will be the year of stash reduction for me with maybe a few scratch builds, so I should be rearing to go in conversions for 2023…
Paul821
As someone who started modelling in the mid 1960's when each month's Airfix Magazine contained a couple of articles which took you through converting an Airfix kit into something else, usually using balsa and dope, I would be up for this one. I never mastered such conversions so it will be interesting to see how I get on 55 years later. Some of the conversions were extremely expensive - Lancaster to LIncoln required 2 Lancasters, 1 Halifix, 1 Frog Shakleton. That is not one I will attempt.
81-er
I could well be up for this, given every build I've started since I joined the site has had some varying degree of departure from the stock kit (and may well partially explain the lack of completion!) gingerbob
Another one late to the planning session. I seldom look at a kit without thinking about how I could "mess it up", so this one's a natural... (Just the other day I (finally) got a copy of the old JMGT 48th conversion to make an early DB-7. Not likely to be my subject here.) bob
Adam Poultney
Would anyone be interested in expanding this to include complete scratch builds?
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday, I guess it would be difficult to scratch build a model without hacking and slashing something, even if it just raw materials. OK by me. Regards, Jeff.

SleeperService
As I claw my way back to reality I'll wave my hand in the air for this one. By 2023 I should have finished many of the failed builds on BM 🤣🤣🤔🤣🤣🙄 I have a Trumpy Wellington to make into the high flying version. Already started it but there are 'unavoidable errors' so much to remove and repeat in better form. I've always liked the Avro York especially with the big radials so that's the next option. Finally I'm always up for using scratch to build something Short Skyvan? Outrageous AFV? One of the fleet of What-Ifs in my head? All 1/48 although a 1/144 Saturn V is whispering in my ear.... A bagged Revell Tracker kit, Unstarted, and unconfirmed whether it's complete. Bought at FAAM show 2004, for £5. And a Falcon Tracer conversion set. I only bought the Tracer components of the set, so forget about Neptunes and Cougars. Parts have been removed from backing sheet, nothing assembled. I hope that confirms <25% eligability. I'm reluctant to unseal the bags they're in, to check further - that's how parts go astray. Also no proper decals, which could add to the fun. BUT, another Tracer is on the horizon, so hopefully I can scrounge some. No desire to build the kit as Revell (or in this case Hasegawa) intended. Confirming continued support for 2023. This project is still untouched.
Scargsy
Sign me up - I've got at least two transkits in the stash currently that will need major surgery (an MGB soft-top to coupe and a Tamiya Lotus 7 to Caterham 7).
AdrianMF
Sign me up. FROG Wallace to Wapiti conversion, following/inspired by the Meccano Magazine article from May 1966. Regards, Adrian
