"Hack and Slash" conversions group build! Almost in the Bunfight!

Recommended Posts

Excellent idea, for which I have the following, to vouch support.

A bagged Revell Tracker kit,  Unstarted, and unconfirmed whether it's complete.  Bought at FAAM show 2004, for £5.

And a Falcon Tracer conversion set.  I only bought the Tracer components of the set, so forget about Neptunes and Cougars.

Parts have been removed from backing sheet, nothing assembled.  I hope that confirms <25% eligability.

I'm reluctant to unseal the bags they're in, to check further  -  that's how parts go astray.

Also no proper decals, which could add to the fun.

BUT,  another Tracer is on the horizon, so hopefully I can scrounge some.

No desire to build the kit as Revell (or in this case Hasegawa) intended.

Hi Adam,

I'd like to take part if this goes ahead. I've a plan to build the projected Napier Dagger-engined Hawker Hurricane, proposed as a training aircraft in 1940 to ease production demands on the RR Merlin. I'd base it on the 1/72 Arma Hobby Hurricane Mk.I, but I'm not sure yet whether I'd bash two kits together (eg Amodel Hector) or scratch-build the Dagger nose. Would that qualify?

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Adam

Great idea for a GB

A couple of potential options that I have in the stash already.

Frog Fairey Gannet + Airmodel vac Conversion = AEW 3

Airfix Heinkel He177 + Toad Resin Conversion  = He 277

The later one is likely going to take me blooming ages !

Please add me to the list.

Cheers Pat

I was thinking a Volvo into a Scania !

Say, shouldn't you be recovering from your stay in the hospital?

(At least, if that's already over?)

Thanks mate,

Yes I should be, its blooming sore, trying not to pull stitches and I feel like I fell down a flight of stairs, with a lovely collection of multicoloured bruises.

Still compared with the guys I was in hospital with I can have absolutely no complaints !

Cheers Pat

Go easy on the whiskey - er, whisky, to you  :drunk:

You don't need a hang-over headache as well,   :bangin:

On other matters

@Adam Poultney, please add me in for this.

Sometimes I do kit alterations so I could do one in this GB

I've got a couple of builds needing modification for my GAF / CAC prototypes theme, including:

CMR CA-6 Wackett, modified with a Gypsy Major engine and cowling.

Avro Lincoln, made from Airfix Lancaster with Blackbird conversion

High Planes Winjeel, with the engine and vertical tail moved to their prototype locations

So, count me in for one of those!

Count me in, I have a couple of major conversions from Blackbird Models (Manchester and Neptune) in the stash. Probably the latter as the Hasegawa kit has been in the stash since about 1980, with the intention of build a MR1.

If I claimed to have Multiple Personality Disorder would that help? Mind you, I'd we'd be VERY busy making all those models. 😁 Regards, Jeff.

............I hope we can get 7 more builders.  I'm thinking of doing a figure or two

got to help our friend from across the water, so please add my name.   Besides, I have been called two-faced;  double chinned and many bellies, would that make up the numbers?

At least you made the List - I should be in to bat at Number 8 but looks like never made the List!

You can substitute me in at Number 10 if you like.  A bit down the batting order from Number 8 but at least on the List!

Added another potential candidate to the list for this GB

Resin conversion kit to change the Revell Junkers Ju-290 into a Ju-390

Go large or go home !

And I might be looking for a new one when Mrs Jockney sees the blooming great thing !

Which Resin Conversion kit is that Pat?

This one

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/classic-plane-cpm-70-junkers-ju-390-v-1--137153

You get an entire replacement resin fuselage as well as the wing extensions extra engines, undercarriage etc.

Has anyone ever built one ?

Cheers Pat
