Finished work on time today which gave me an hour or so extra, which in turn meant I could spend a bit of time at the bench. So today’s story is all about gluing. The main intake got stuck together and gently added to a fuselage side. It’s a pretty good fit all in all. The front of the intake got glued with its little split fin. Andy hidden away never to be seen again. 😩 At least we know it’s in there. Right? 🥺 All hidden in seam City. 🤪 Next up I decided to pop the exhausts together. Now a word of warning if you’re going to build this kit don’t glue these bits first. No matter how right you think you have it. “You haven’t” 😠 a panicked ten minutes was spent prising those apart after I decided to do a dry fit of the rear block that holds them into the fuselage. What you want to do is glue these bits first. Then add the cover. And then paste the whole sun section into the fuselage. Luckily no harm was done to any shiny paint during the masking of this exhaust section. 😇😅 While that cited for a bit I stuck the rear fin together after chipping half out last night to see if it was short shot for @Nikola Topalov . I was In a gluing frenzy!!!! Controls next. Then I’m a complete moment of total madness I glued in the Office. 😲😵💫🤔 It seemed to fit ok. 🤫🤭 Not wanting to miss an opportunity I slowly grabbed the other ‘arf without totally looking at it 👀🦋and trapped the blighter twixt the two fuselage bits. Pegs went on, tape came out and TET was sloshed. Every thing seemed to just kind of……. Fit. 🧘♂️😲🤩🤫 Not wanting to push my luck I ran some securing TET onto all mating surfaces and left her here too cure. Looking a little bit like an aeroplane. 🤩 Next I’m looking forward to getting the wings on so I can get that wiring out of the way. 😇 More soon. Thanks for dropping by. 🤗 Happy modelling chums. Hasegawa have you do it this way on their 1/72 Mustangs and I hate it, because there's more than one way they will sort of fit but only one correct orientation; odds are the glue is well set before you realise you've muffed it, and even if you got it right you've gotta either mask off the stacks or mask off the fuselage to paint the stacks. Much sad. ☹️ Everything is looking swell, Johnny-- I especially like the lightening holes along the canopy rails. Perhaps not a crucial detail but one that will set off approving nods amongst the cognoscenti. The radio wiring and placards are on point too. Some progress has been made however. 😇 Finding the joy of sprew goo only recently I opted to make a small pot of the stuff after almost finishing a pot of TET. Clipped off bits of sprew later and we have this. Amazing!!! Everyone was right. ❤️ The main seams were given a line of goo. The front cowl. The rear had a slight step so. (Splodge) The main intake needed some love too. This got left to dry fit a day before attempting to sand and smooth away. To be fair I have only done the intake while I was working ( my from home desk is still on the landing outside the grotto ) but the result is fantastic! Also in a brief moment of madness I wired up one well. Not perfect but as a passing glance she’ll do. Just got to get the other side done now. ❤️ covid Jab No.2 done this morning so I’m feeling a little wooly. Lots to do over the weekend but hopefully I can get more of this lovely lady complete. The wires in the wheel well are pretty acceptable. 😎 Did you fill the seam down the middle of the upper nose?
