I love the idea and the result. ( it looks really beasty ! )

Anyway ... it seems you might be insane some way : building a Whif to avoid a splinter camo and decalling 200+ stencils ( or more maybe ) ... that's nuts , but it's the reason I love your project. ;)

Oh yeah, I embrace my insanity :christmas: Thanks

That's not a 'What if' model; it's more like a 'Why the heck not' model. That is amazing modeling and entirely plausible. ( Just goes to show the lengths a modeler will go to to avoid painting Swedish lozenge camouflage on a Viggen!) :giggle:

Thanks Mike. I don't know what discourages me more, doing a natural metal finish or Swedish lozenge camouflage? One day....

Like others have said, it looks very convincing in that guise. I admire your patience with all those stencils!

Great job.  Kudos for applying all that stenciling!!!😬

My biggest worry with all the stenciling was so many chances for silvering. How I manage to avoid it was,  I applied a healthy brush stoke of Future where the decal was going to be placed. I only had two or three decals that didn't want to play nicely. With them, I brush on 50/50 Future/rubbing Alcohol mix and stabbed the decal with a fresh no#11 blade.  To allow the future/alcohol mix to get behind the decal to get rid of the silvering. Once dry, I respray the flat coat.

Thanks again everyone!

Steven

Very nicely done!!!!!!  :yahoo:

The SH model is not an easy one to build straight off, your "additions" are really nicely done, I love it.
