Phil1960
Hi All, here my new project: Schwerer Panzerjager Elefant Sd.Kfz. 184 in Italy during spring/summer 1944 from 1st company of 653rd Heavy Panzerjäger Battalion. The kit no 35325 is spectacular with great details and perfect fitting. My interest is no 113 as it had some interesting features: - Zimmerit coating on left side different from right side; - a white vertical stripe on front side of fighting compartment. I found some good pictures on Panzerwrews Volume 13 and some useful technical details on the following books: Anyway I'd like to improve with: - photoetched details from Aber 35123; - Pak 43 L/71 from Aber 35 L-140; - Zimmerit coating from Atak 35056; - Working tracks from Master Club 35003 They tuned! Phil1960
Hi All, some more wip pics. I add the rough coating on plates. and the Zimmerit coating from Atak: superlative, very realistic with perfect fit (only the front plate needs a plastic card strip for the right adjustment. I prefer to re-made the rear grille as the kit part was too simplified. Towing cables from Eureka XXL are very nice. Hope you like Ciao Filippo
edjbartos
Very nice Filippo, you have done great work so far, it's looking really good. Looking forward to seeing more... Ed

Hope you like Ciao Filippo Ciao Filippo So far absolutely cleanly built-Zimmertit also top! I have also used the Tamiya model with Atak and I agree that it is a first-class choice for the elephant. Unfortunately, my build has to wait at the moment, because I still have a project in the Panzer 3 GB. Your book references are great. I have had some problems with the camouflage in the past and am considering redoing it. Would you have some more information about the camouflage scheme of the Anzio front? I only have the Tamiya manual at hand... I will follow your build with great interest. Have fun and all the best! MD
Phil1960
Hi MD sorry for the delayed answer. Many thanks for your words. It is very difficult to find more informations about Elefant camo at Anzio front but I think Tamiya manual could be a good starting point. Take a look at KH Munch book on history of the 653 Heavy Tank Hunter Battalion. It is a great book and it worth. All the best. THEscaleSHOW
Ciao Filippo No problem and thanks for the book tip 😉 I have just ordered it from A 👍 MD
Phil1960
Well done MD, KH book is not cheap but it is a mine of pics. The colour drawing interest me is that with the caption “Schwere Panzerjager-Kompanie 614 Berlin April 1945” and is better than Tamiya manual. That representing Elefant no. 102 is very nice even if it is a very pale two tone camo (only green no redbrown). If I'll built another one I made Ferdinand no 131 at Orel july 1943 during Zitadelle with a large white squared recognition panel with a red cross!😇 All my best and stay tuned! ciao Filippo
THEscaleSHOW
Ciao Filippo I was planning to build a vignette in Italy, inspired by the photo of Panzer 124 in Soriano. To depict a destroyed elephant would be a challenge, but I was almost finished with the construction 😴 I like the camouflage scheme in yellow with brown-green spots, but Stef N. has already done a very good job and so I need something else 😁 I'm more interested in the unusual paint jobs, even if it sometimes looks a bit like what if. Currently, as you can see, my model has spots with hard edges...but somehow 🤔 I'm not satisfied with it... I had already thought about a disc camo as the Nashorn from M. Rinaldi or white wash, but will now wait for the book and your model 😎 Maybe you know this site - it's very interesting. https://mikesresearch.com/2019/07/28/elefants-in-italy-1944 TC MD
