TimB
Farewell to the most eloquent of the Apollo astronauts - his "Carrying the Fire" still gets my vote as the best of their memoirs. Tim

Tim Agreed… people talk of him as “the forgotten astronaut,” but Carrying the Fire made teenage me feel like I understood his life and work better and even “knew him” a bit; much more so than Aldrin and Armstrong, and I’ve felt that way all my life. So God Speed Michael Collins… your resilience as the loneliest man in history, and THAT photo will ensure you’ll never be forgotten… best, M. stevehnz
Sad this though he lived to a good age. Just Buzz Aldrin left with us now. I was 14 when Apollo 11 did its thing & I can still remember the thrill I felt, an incredible legacy these men left. RIP Mr Collins.
