READY!!! Su-7BMK, Egypt AF, Yom Kippur War (Shmer/Revell 1/48)

Recommended Posts

Hi comrades!

My next build is ancient Su-7 kit in Revell box.

The Shmer's kit is the best available in the last 40 years). I'll add some aftermarket parts.

The prototype I chose from the Harpia's excellent reference book.

So, let's start))

Hi comrades!

This is not an easy kit(.

Here is small update:

Wings mainly assembled (one-almost Tamiya like, the second - a hour of sanding, trimming and violence). Wheel wells with brass updates, ready for wiring.

Big resin fuselage vents installed...

Hi comrades!

This build is pure pain!

So far:

I enlarged the stabilizators, installed most of the Eduard brass interior, painted and installed the Reskit exhaust and Miniword metallic nose details, added weight-checked the center of gravity and added more weight.

Now it's ready to join the fuselage halves

Hi comrades!

So far: fuselage assembled and rescribed (and I love the "Locktite 480" black superglue)

Main assembly and pylon to bomb "integration" done.

Weapons and canopy measured to the assembled airframe.

And fuel tanks stabilizers brought to normal thickness.

Hi comrades!

Slowly progressing on Su-7))

Painted (my first attempt on freehand) - far from ideal (some overspray), but I'm satisfied. Paints were mixed to match the color profile

Also, my first try on self-made masks. My first use of Cameo-3 cutter and Silhouette studio. Two days of pain, but the masks worth the effort.

Next-clear coat and decals

Thanks for looking

That looks great, I never knew this kit existed I was gonna ask if it's a new kit but it's the old Revell box. It looks great ans pretty big I saw these up close near Riga airport years ago big old beasts!
