Gondor44
I am looking for the best 1/72 scale MiG-29A 9.12 and or the next best just in case I can't find one of the best available. I am also a little confused with the nameing of the various variants with the 9.12 being the A sub variant and the 9.13 being the C version I beleive. Could someone point me towards a good refference source that will explaine this to me. Thanks in advance Gondor
alex_stela
For now the best MiG-29A 9.12 in 1:72 is the Trumpeter kit: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/trumpeter-01674-mig-29a-fulcrum-izdeliye-912--939754 Info about versions? Just try Wiki 😉 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan_MiG-29
CharlieGolf2009
IMHO in 1/72: MiG-29A (9.12) - Trumpeter MiG-29S (9.13) - Zvezda MiG-29UB (9.51) - Trumpeter MiG-29SMT (9.17) - Zvezda
modelldoc
It's the 9.13 from Zvezda / rebox by Revell with KORA markings: https://www.flickr.com/photos/21603181@N08/46896998965/in/dateposted/ modelldoc
Gondor44
Thanks everyone, that's exactly the kind of information I was looking for 👍 EDIT: Looking on eBay I see that Trumpeter also do C & SMT versions, which I would have thought would have been as good as their A and UB versions. Hook
Italeri's MiG-29 was the best of the bunch before the Zvezda and Trumpeter came along, can still be made to look good, and can be had cheap. Cheers, Andre
modelldoc
From the early kits, this is the MiG-29 UB from Revell: https://www.flickr.com/photos/21603181@N08/17122609174/in/photolist-2es8nVF-s64Ray modelldoc

Cheers, Andre This kit has been in constant production for many years and it shows: recent issues fit pretty badly, with several parts deformed or not well moulded. Overall this makes building it a frustrating experience
MiG-Mech
Actual Trumpeter and Zvezda are the kits to talk about. Zvezda is the better, coz auxillary intake doors on upper fuselage are closed.

Also not a highlight built and I guess 1/144, not 1/72. Edited April 25, 2021 by MiG-Mech
