593jones
The new Airfix Mosquito arrived today (hooray!), although curiously, the Airfix website says my order is still processing
lasermonkey
A couple of bottles of Humbrol Liquid Poly. Not exactly cheap when postage has to be paid, but with nowhere local to get them, I simply had no choice. Although Mr Cement SP is my favourite these days, there are still certain applications where Liquid Poly is the best glue for the job, IMHO. It's amazing what she get knocked off prices, better than I could. Perhaps there's some gypsy ancestry? My beloved has a gypsy great-grandfather and she's a killer negotiator. I've learned to just make sure we're getting the basics and then remain silent while she shreds the salesperson. Mick4350
Ah well, some of the today's purchases from QMHE, a pair of Bandai Star Wars kits, Darth Vader figure, R2-D2 & BB-8. An Arma Hobby Hurricane Mk IIc. A couple of books on the kettenkraftrad, by Trojca and Tankograd. And I won the first raffle for the day and I chose the Border Model T34-76 ( factory 112 ) 2 in 1 kit.
Des
From Hurley Books on eBay TSR2 Britain’s Lost Bomber by Adrian Burke published 2010 by Crowood as part of the Crowood Aviation Series. Have a few of this series and while interesting enough there are more in-depth books available on most of their subjects hence I had not bothered with this one until reading some of the comments in a recent discussion here on TSR2 references and bought this second-hand copy , definitely on a par with if not ahead of the competition on the subject. From The Aviation & Military Book Centre Duke Hawkins Aircraft in Detail 020 Sukhoi Su-35s Flanker E , published 2021 by HMH Publications , usual high standard of full aircraft and detail shots in this latest addition to the series. Scottish Aviation Pioneers – Scotland’s STOL Specialists by Chris Hobson , published 2021 by AIR-BRITAIN. Other than vac-form and multi-media Valom’s Twin Pin is quite possibly the only injection-moulded kit we are likely to see for either in any scale but still nice to hope. Also with 'orders over £35' I got a free pack of AK Weathering Pencils 'Chipping and Aging' Set which have already been appropriated and put to use by my wife for detailing her current acrylic painting , looks really good for aging doors , windows etc. From Key Publishing Avro 748 by Barry Lloyd , published 2021 by Key Publishing as Volume 3 in their Historic Commercial Aircraft Series covering both civil and military use but not the ramp equipped Andover C.1 and derivatives. Republic F-105 Thunderchief - Peacetime Operations by Theo Van Geffen and Gerald Arruda , published 2021 by Key Publishing as Volume 6 in their Historic Military Aircraft Series , interesting take on the ‘Thud’ away from the Vietnam War with a good division of metallic and camouflage colour schemes among the many images included. Heavy Bombers Of The RAF - From WWI To The Cold War , published 2021 by Key Publishing as the latest in their Aviation Archive Bookazine series , usual mix of images and cutaways ( twelve in this one with 8 being double-page foldouts) many of which are contemporary drawings from the Aeroplane of their day . Ordered direct as local distribution of the various Key Specials is rather patchy , WH Smith seems to have given up , Tesco and my local Newsagent get some but not others although both never have the same title(s) and in this case neither had it. The surface details look really nicely restrained while the interior looks suitably busy. Looking forward to this one.... Cheers, Mark

Spookytooth
I went for a wander this afternoon to see my old mate Paul at Waterlooville Model Centre and treated myself to this. Some sad news though. It looks like he will be shutting up shop soon due to lease issues. He has a sale on, with 25% off all kits, but I will say that they are thinning out. Paints, glues etc are still normal price though. Let us hope that they can come to some arrangement. Simon. 1
Heather Kay
A spot of retail therapy. Research material and masks for the Airfix Beaufort, biding its time in the stash queue. Some transfers for the Matchbox/Revell Walrus I’m working on for the High Wing group build. Much more exciting is the final piece in my Dutch air force 1940 jigsaw puzzle. Very tempted to pull this and the Valom TV onto the bench very soon.
