This howitzer was developed in USSR in 1969 at the Kharkov plant. Sergo Ordzhonikidze. The chief designer of the chassis - Belousov A.F., 122 mm guns 2A31 - Petrov F.F. It is designed to destroy enemy manpower, artillery and mortar batteries, and destroy bunkers. As well as providing passages in minefields and field obstacles. Start of serial production - 1971 - 1991 More than 10,000 units were produced in total. GVOZDIKA was also produced under license in Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and Iran. Combat weight - 15.7 tons. Barrel length - 4.3 m. Ammunition - 40 rds. Max. firing range of the high-explosive artillery shell - 15.2 km. Max. powerful diesel engine - 300 hp Max. speed - 62 km / h. Crew - 4 people.
