1/72 Italeri M8 Greyhound

Recommended Posts

Dear fellow Britmodellers,

here's my 1/72 Italeri M8 Greyhound, built with the addition of Brengun photo etch.

Painted with Gunze/Mr. Hobby acrylics, weathered with artist oils and Tamiya pigments.

The model represents a vehicle operating in France, 1944.

Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel.

The Italeri kit was originally released in 2004 and is still the only 72 scale injection-moulded model on the market.

I upgraded the plastic parts with the Hauler/Brengun set (HLH72098), which contains both photo-etch and resin pieces.

The kit decals seem to be slightly oversized, so I replaced the US star on the front with an aftermarket item from Peddinghaus.

The antennas are from stretched sprue, the stowage items were included in the kit.

Hi My Friend Roman!!!

Congratulations for this magnificent work pal!!!

Really a nice gem of a build you have done with this hard to get kit!!!

I have been watching carefully this build and remember when I was collecting some armor kits to deal with as a Guatemalan Army types,.. but in 1/32 -1/35...

It would be a nice thing to find both the M-8 and M-20 kits to look for something... but maybe this thing is only a dream.

While, I am happy enjoying your builds here as ever!!!

Thank you very much for sharing!!!

Cheers,

Luis Alfonso

Thank you Luis!

The Austrian Army operated a few M-8s in the 1950s/1960s, just like many other Armed Forces Post-WW2.

Therefore, I find it interesting, that no new kit of this type has been released since the Italei model came out (in 2004?).

Both the M8 and M20 have disappeared from Italeri's catalouge, but still can be found second-hand.

While quality of moulding and fit are generally good, the smaller details are not up-to-date, revealing their age.
