ClaudioN
Daer all, in a book I'm reading I came across a reference to ADM 1/10752, "Fleet Air Arm fighter aircraft: future policy, staff requirements, duties, etc" The title suggests it might be a source worth reading, but I have no idea of its actual contents. Anybody here on BM knows something more about it? Thank you Claudio
Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies
Hi Claudio, It's not a record I've ever looked at, but like most in there it's not been digitalised so you have to go there in person to see it. https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C4794435
gingerbob
I've seen it! It pertains specifically to "a meeting held by 5th Sea Lord on 4/1/40 to discuss the future policy for FAA fighters" [that's 4 Jan, in case of confusion]. bob 1
EwenS
Some interesting documents from the period can be found in this publication. The Minutes of the 4 Jan meeting are dated 19 Jan. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1911423886/?coliid=I1CO4BDKASO0PJ&colid=I38YUH7DZNUG&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Parts of it it can be found on Google Books. The first part of ADM 1/10752 is viewable using the Safari browser here. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=qlNeHN7SMDsC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false I’ve found other browsers may give access to more or less of Google Books content so if you can’t see it, it is worth trying another browser.
ClaudioN
Thank you very much. Lots of information in those records. The hardcover publication was horrendously expensive, maybe I might give a thought to the paperback one.
