Faraway
This twin pack of models dates from the 1960's. Not sure if the colours are accurate, but I don't supposed it matters too much. Some of the joins on Virginia were a bit uneven, but if I'd sanded them too much, I'd have lost the rivet detail. Bitzer
I build that kit as a wee lad back in the early 60's. You did a wonderful job on them! 👍

That’s very kind of you, I remember my father building the Monitor, back in the 60’s. So I couldn’t really resist them. Jon
thorfinn
Neatly done! Just as an FYI, the kits are actually two different scales...the Monitor about 1/200, the other approx. 1/300. Lindberg did the same 'trick' when they did their combo kit, which I built a few years back. Both manufacturers' versions suffer from the same lack of historical accuracy...but they're great fun to build!

I had not realised, it would be nice to have them reproduced by a current manufacturer, but bigger scale and dare I say, internal detail. 😱
GrantGoodale
Flagship Models (flagshipmodels.com) have both the Monitor and the Virginia in 1/192 scale. I think people speak well of their kits but I have never built one so I can't comment on that.
