seanw
Hi All, I know that weathering is pretty subjective....but. This is both my first 1/24 build and attempt at weathering. I've attached photo of underside of Me109 which I have weathered with watercolour paints. Too much/too little? I don't want to achieve pin sharp panel lines, more of an uneven look but maybe too thick/too much/doesn't work?? Any comments or advice appreciated before the final coat of matt goes on. Thanks Sean
bbudde
Hello as you have already painted itr the preshading won't be able for an uneven finish anymore. Maybe @spadgent or @giemme as some other of the folks I usually look at could help you with some postshading tips and hints Me. They are specialists on many weathering techniques as well as the others and the spadgent did built this kit very well. Btw I like your plane with a more clean finish. Cheers. Plasticbasher
Weathering is a tricky one as everyone will have different ideas and techniques. To me your 109 looks pretty fine, subtle weathering on a well cared for machine. I think a coat of satin or Matt varnish would enhance the effect slightly. It’s really about what you are happy with. Experiment, find the style and method that works for you. be nice to see the upper surface as well, looks a good model, nice work!
