Cyber Hobby 1/72 Sea Venom FAW.21

Recommended Posts

Hi There,

A nice little kit pretty much straight out of the box other than some masking tape belts, vaping wire ejector seat loops and some white decal lines.

WIP Here

Primed with UMP Grey

Painted with Colourcoats Extra Dark Sea Grey, Sky Type S, Light Admiralty Grey.

Tamiya Nato Black and Rubber Black.

Washed with Flory Dark Dirt.

Finished with Windsor and Newton Satin Varnish.

Some pic of the internals that will never be seen again.

An excellent model Alistair,  it does look fab   if I didn't have stash issues I would get one of these.   I will have to make do with the enjoyment your thread provided.   Great work fella .

Chris

Thanks so much Chris.

I'm desperately trying to build stuff and not buy two or three other kits to replace it. It's not working well.

Cheers,

Alistair

I know what you mean, I keep looking at one of these but have a Premiere kit of this type with PE and am waiting for the SH 32nd Westland Whirlwind kit which is on Pre order at the mo so can't really justify getting one, yet!!! Although I could get the book of raffle tickets out.... look what I won dear....!!! I am off to do some modelling now as am hoping to finish the Ventura done tonight.

Fabulous finish, Alistair, and the Suez scheme looks excellent!

The work you put into the engine was amazing, such a shame it's hidden away!

Looking forward to the FM-2 Wildcat next ;)

Mark

Meant to add that I'm doing a lot of this - now up to four AZ Mohawks, five Airfix Gladiators, two Arma Hurricane Mk.IIB/Cs plus three sets of overtrees. Thankfully, pretty much everything else is singular!

But I have an Excel spreadsheet of planned builds. That can't be healthy, can it?

Just take two aspirin and, if pain persists............🤣

Actually, I'm not any kind of example when it comes to building ambitions and stash control!😜

Hey @AliGauld, that's a heck of good Sea Venom!  What'd you think of the kit?

Thanks very much.

The kit was great after some serious fit issues at the start.

It must have been me but the engine was way too big to fit and had to be shortened and filed down a fair bit, but as no one else that I can see on the net has had the same problems I think it was something I did.

Other than that it was a nicely fitting kit with no further probs.

Thanks Duncan,

I like a folded wing option myself.

Urrrgggghhhhhh! All I saw of that were the clips on Gogglebox, and even then I nearly soiled myself!
