mahavelona
Hi all, Just picked up Revell's 1/72 S-100. Looks like there are quite a lot of monotone colour schemes, so I wanted to know if anybody was aware of S-100 boats wearing camouflage? It looks like the S-38 boats had complex camo schemes in many examples. Thanks
Arjan
No S-100 boats with camo patterns are known to have existed. There are some colorful S-38b ones though. I downloaded this pic from Ebay some months ago. It shows an S-38b boat, the giveaway here is the squarish vent immediately behind the bridge. The twin mg 34 is also a common feature of S-38b boats. This boat probably belonged to one of the training flotillas at the Baltic Sea. Regards, Arjan
mahavelona
Hi Rajan, Thanks for the confirmation. I have seen a few MODEL S-100 boats painted in camo schemes... And a profile picture with no details as to who or where the boat served. But no actual historic photos as of yet. Hence I was hopeful but sceptical. I might look into converting the Revell S -100 to an S-38 but may likely decide to just paint it grey!
Arjan
This may be the same vessel, pity the quality of the image isn't any better : Arjan
Bozothenutter
There is also a sharkmouthed early S-38 in gloss dark gray (I guess?)
Bundesfan
Does anyone have any more pictures of the shark-mouthed schnellboot they can post. This would be a great project.
