Fifer54
For this GB, I'll be building Italeri's 1/35 1/4ton 4x4 Ambulance Jeep As you can see, it's in their D-Day 1944 series, which was released in 2014 to mark the 70th anniversary. This is also being used for a GB elsewhere on the theme of "Jeep", which runs roughly concurrently (actually 15th April-14th July), so this will be finished early, but it won't be started early! The other forum hasn't posted up a sub-forum for that GB yet . . . Here are its mugshots: Good luck with your builds, everyone! Medics on duty next Saturday!

PattheCat
Remembers me of my term in a paramedic unit, back in 1982. We had one Willy's still running and it was still unbeatable as an all-terrain vehicle, also! I take a seat for the show. Cheers. Pat.
Fifer54
Thanks, Guys! I have started this by assembling the simple chassis. There are 8 components, and 4 of them are road springs. Here it is so far: In this picture it is, of course upside-down! I've also put together the 3 parts that make up the engine, not that it will be seen in the finished model. The stretcher frame over the engine hood prevents display of an open bonnet. There'll be more soon!

Fifer54
Thanks, Brad! Work on this is proceeding. The decals are done, and she stands on her own legs! The "jeep" construction appears to be complete, there's only the ambulance adaptations to add and it'll be done . . .
Fifer54
The ambulance mods to the jeep consist of a rear support frame, a middle support frame and- yes- a front support frame! Add stretchers (litters, if you're a Colonial!), a few medic-y accessories, and it's done! More piccies soon in the gallery . . .
Brad
Well done, it looks great.
PattheCat
Very well done. I like the helmet on the front seat and the "first aid" kits. Are they provided with the kit? The "legacy" jeep of our unit had a different configuration, with just two stretchers at the rear (and other markings indeed). Looks to me like a very convincing reproduction
