Nebbor
What scale/kit/aftermarket are you looking at? Just "PE15" doesn't ring a bell, please elaborate.

It is the PE set that comes with the PF kit (70143-LEPT1). It is a metallic rectangle that has a small square section marked on it. The instructions indicate that it goes on the back on the seat, on top of the rear cushion but that doesn't right right according to images I have found. lasermonkey
I wish I could help! I just had a look at the instructions and I’m none the wiser. If you hadn’t have mentioned it, I would probably just have fitted it. I wonder what it’s supposed to be?
exdraken
It should mounted at the backrest below the seat shoulder belts. If this looks better than the plastic part I do not know. Just leave it of!
PranayKumar99
I built it in 1:48 and will share a pic tomorrow after work.
Stilwell
From: https://www.armedconflicts.com/SOV-Mikojan-Gurevic-SK-1-t42406 https://galerie.valka.cz/data/389/IMG_0589.jpg I take it to be the brownish rectangle that the chest straps are in front of. On some of the pictures I've seen looking for this one, the rectangle is quilted: http://www.ejectionsite.com/russian/sk1_a1.jpg But the quilted part may be upholstered on the top picture. Thanks Jonathan. I guess some trimming to get the chamfered top corners and I can use it Martin
72modeler
Martin, Go to the ejection site website and click on the seat gallery to see closeup views of the SK-1 seat from several different angles. See if that helps. If you don't already have this website bookmarked, it is an excellent site for modelers. I use it and the Martin-Baker website all the time for weenie cooker bang seat references! exdraken
https://www.eduard.com/out/media/70143-cz.pdf if you use it, is up to you! but it is quite clear here how to!
RidgeRunner
True, the drawing is clear but my hesitation was because it appeared that Eduard wanted a flat metal plate attached to the front of the seat. It didn’t seem logical. I now realise it represents a cloth/webbing piece. I have installed it but with the two upper corners removed ;). Thanks for your help! I’ll get a shot on the thread tomorrow :). It looks okay to my eyes . You have to excuse my poor detailing, though! Martin
RidgeRunner
Here she is @exdraken. I now think I'll finish her canopy open as it looks quite good to my eyes . I painted the part tan to match the soft strapping, as in the image above. Some images show grey some show tan. If I go for the open option I'll need to change the small actuator on top of the seat to the more vertical position. Right now I need to decide if I want to mask that fiddly interior of the canopy Martin

Now I've gone for an open canopy model I need to seal the fuselage/cockpit tub join a bit better (with PPP) and add the locating tab on the front of the canopy ;). There is a build log of this machine in WIP Martin
