Popular Post rom1
Hello Here is a build done in early 2020. Hasegawa F4U-7 Aires Cockpit Aires engine Pavla control surfaces Obsureco wheels Brassin HVAR and bomb Adecco decal The model depicts a plane during 1956 Suez Canal crisis. Some sources say that this actual airframe had only yellow stripes wihtout black ones. Aires cockpit needs some added details to depict a -7 such as armrests, and armament control boxes on each sides of the gunsight. Paint is AKREAL COLORS RC258 Dark sea blue, tuned with MrHobby C375 and a drop of H5. Hope you like it! Critiques and comments welcomed! Electric Indigo
A masterful build, and the paintjob is pure art! Mind to share your approach to the chipping at the wing root?
rom1
thank you! as for the chipping, the whole model is primed with mr hobby 218, wich gives weak adhesion for paints applied on it. then the dark sea blue is painted, and after drying, chipped with toothpick and blade. 12

Zigomar
Nice Corsair in Suez markings. It seems that the tail trim actuators were on the intrados and not on the extrados, on the AU7 and on the AU1. best regards.Ref Bert Kinzey D&S Vol 56 and Ailes de Gloire n°12.

Toryu
Excellent detail and excellent finish. The late Corsairs look tremendously effective, particularly in Suez markings.

72modeler
My favorite postwar Corsair variant in my favorite markings! There used to be one of these in the same scheme that was very active on the airshow circuit back in the 70-80's, and I was able to get a lot of detail photos. Outstanding modeling, correct loadout, and you even displaced the servo tabs to match the elevator deflection- a little touch that is missed by many; I am impressed. Now you need an F4U-5NL to go with this one on your shelf! Wish we had a decent late Corsair in 1/72 scale, but happy for you 1/48 builders! I totally agree with the comments on your weathering and cockpit. Mike

Scimitar F1
Some of the best weathering and attention to detail that I have seen. The representation of oil around the pivots on the U/C will defo be appearing on my builds as well.
