Epeeman
Dear all - Completed Airfix's small scale Gladiator. Great little kit although I did run into some tight fitting parts that seemed to throw kit geometry as build progressed. Areas effected mainly cabane struts not aligning with upper wing location points and engine mounting resulting in some problems getting the cowling panels to fit properly. Built mostly OOB with the exception of adding seat harness (made from masking tape); knocked up basic gun sight and mount; cutting the elevators to add a bit of pose; drilling out machine gun muzzles and exhaust; adding ariel mast. Rigged mostly with fine sewing mending thread then some Oschi standard and fine elastic thread. I opted for the more involved colour/marking scheme which made brush painting more time consuming - finished as No. 615 (County of Surrey) Squadron, RAF, St. Inglevert, Northern France, December 1939. RichieW
What a little gem! I can only manage monoplanes in 1/72 so it's a treat to see this to such a high standard.

pheonix
First class model Dave, in a very interesting colour scheme. Excellent rigging and overall finish, especially since it is painted with a hairy stick. What an improvement on the old tool kit!! P 1
