F-21 pod Identity needed

Can someone please help me identify the dark blue pod under the wing of this F-21 please? Looks like a finless Sidewinder.

Yes, that's a sidewinder acquisition round. Like tweeky says, a working seeker head mounted on a metal tube. The pilot then gets the "growl" tone in his headset when the missile lock on to a target.

It looks like on the opposite wing is an AIS pod (Airborne Instrumentation System). Used to send information of the aircrafts position and orientation back to a ground station for ACMI (Air Combat Maneuver Instruction) training.

That's great, thanks both. I guess chopping the fins off an Aim-9 and painting it blue would make a passable representation.
