Brad
Just wondering what people use as pedestal mounts for their warships. I've got a 1/72 U boat and I have made up a nice wood base but lack pedestals to mount her. I've had a look around and the only thing I can find are the ridiculously expensive ones from the LHS, so I'm wondering if there is a budget option out there that someone uses. TIA.
dnl42
Brass rod is pretty inexpensive, but may be too slight for a 1/72 Uboat. Much more substantial clear acrylic rods aren't too expensive. You might troll a household store for some round drawer pulls that you could stack up. Finally, you could go for an industrial look with pipe fittings from a plumbing supply house. GrantGoodale
You could also look for "lamp filials" available at a lighting shop or home improvement or hardware stores. 2
Bish
I use strips of wood for my ship builds. This is an S-100 i did last year. I'm doing the same for the 72nd U-Boat i am currently working on. Edited April 3, 2021 by Bish 4
Modelholic
Have a look for any wood turning hobby clubs in your area and see if they could make you any. Tom 1
