Captured Focke Wulfe 190 schemes needed

I plan on building a 1/48 Focke Wulfe 190 and I've seen several images of captured 190's which have been repainted, some are real - but some don't seem to be (artists renderings etc)...does anyone have any good photos of a captured 190? RAF or USAF only, please!

There are some decal sets for captured FW190’s on the Hannah’s site. I was searching for a ME109 night fighter variant when I spotted the decals. The Airfix Club edition ME109 in captured marking appeals. Having recently returned to the hobby I am disciplining myself not to create a “stash”. I sold my last one 20 years ago to a specialist!

Be careful of Airfix's rendering, it seems a bit off.

Hmm...

I've wanted to do this one.  But looking at the photo, is it possible that it just superficially looks like USN, so we've all assumed?  What started me thinking was the "different" colour on the port wing inboard, though I suppose it could be explained away by all the dirty boots eager for a peek into the cockpit.

The dark colour looks as much green as USN blue to me, and I could readily imagine that I see ghosts of overpainted markings on the light sides of the fuselage.  Could it just be absent mottling?

Over,

bob

They are starting to get hard to find, unfortunately, but there is little to compare with these two books. There is nice color artwork on literally every page of each one:

I don't have it, but there is also a fat volume in this series on captured Bf 109's.

Karaya makes a large range of decals for the captured 190's, all based on these books I believe (and if you can't find the books, the decal instruction sheets are a pretty good substitute reference).

An extensive choice of decal options from Karaya are available from Hannants.

Volume 2 of the Kecay book is still available on Amazon for a reasonable price of around £48, along with their book on captured Bf109's as well if you are interested.

Regards

Colin.

Not a fan of axis aircraft in allied colors, but if I had to do a captured Fw-190, it would be the Fw-190A-5, werk no.  150051, painted in USN non specular sea blue, intermediate blue, and white, as tested at Patuxent River. See the links below. NOT RAF or USAAF as requested in the original post, but a very handsome airplane. The last link has some good photos of Wurgers in RAF colors/markings. Hope this helps.

Hey Mike, I tend to agree with you as it doesn't quite seem right, however in this instance I find the 190 one of the greatest looking aircraft and want to have quite a few different liveries on the shelf! Also, thank you for the fantastic links provided - I spent so much time (OH so much time...) reading through them.

Thanks all, you've set me up for a great Easter weekend of reading! I honestly want to do them all. You can never have enough 190s on the shelf - in my mind. My wife's on the other hand...
