1/48 Academy T-33 Shooting Star

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

Continuing with my discovery of old photos in a hard drive, here's another kit I build more or less 10 years ago. It's the Academy T-33 with a KCM (?) resin cockpit and True Details resin wheels. It was painted with Alclad colors and Model Master Enamels. Decals are from an Icarus sheet.

From my memory, this is a nice kit to build. The only real problem I found was trying to put the resin cockpit inside the fuselage, but after that was done, the rest of the build was trouble free.

Hope you like it!

P.S: Sorry about the lighting in the photos!

Nice, some great schemes were adorned on the Greek T Birds👍🏻🇬🇷

Hi Scott, thanks for commenting. For me, Greek early jets are among the most colorful and eyecatching! So many schemes to choose!

That's a pretty bird, it's really got that Fifties jet look with the natural metal, the orange tail, two-tone tip tanks (say that three times fast), and the buzz numbers on the nose.

Your modelling skills are impressive, Tato.  Hope you share more of your work here.

That is a beautiful T-bird! Truly a classic design that trained thousands of jet pilots all around the world. Nice to see one in a scheme and  markings you don't often see. Well done!
