Any suggestions for match for BMC engine green paint?

Recommended Posts

Building an early 60s mini and wondering if anybody has found a near equivalent for the green engine paint used on small BMC cars at that time? Preferably Humbrol as I am more like to have that in my stash.

Looking on the internet you realise that there seems to be almost as many shades used as there are cars out there, most of which look wrong to me anyway!

I keep picking up a tin and thinking that is nearly it but then look at another one and think that is nearer.

Internet sources say it should be BS381c223 middle bronze green but I think (from memory, been a long time since I fiddled with an A series engine) it looks more like BS381c222 light bornze green but really I am most interested in what looks correct at scale, rather than is correct - colours can look very different on small surfaces than when on big ones.

cheers

Chris

I am perhaps more drawn to Humbrol 80?  Appreciate not easy to tell from that photo!
