That is good progress on these. Steve. Thanks Steve - she's a good girl and will be fine with whatever I've done. Probably I found something the right(ish) size: Roll it over the pen and then ?? roll it on the bench? Hmmm. Doesn't really match the pen profile does it? Perhaps I need one of those rolling sets - can I Dad, can I? It seems to fit, but wait, it doesn't look like the picture does it? Have I got the right part? #53 is still on the sheet. Hmmm. What's it supposed to look like when assembled? Perhaps I need to look at some reference shots…
CedB
I checked the Eduard site and this set is discontinued The instructions there are the same. They have some pictures of the set assembled like this one: Doesn't help a lot, sadly. I think I'll leave glueing it until I've assemble the rest of the bay. 12
giemme
The joys of photo-etching.... FWIW, and if you're not allowed too buy that new toy.... I mean tool...., I'd look for something of a smaller diameter to roll that PE part on. You can then spread it out to conform to the wheel bay. Biggles87
I admire your perseverance ( or is it bloody-mindedness ) with the tiny PE, but don't forget the golden rule: " If it won't be seen don't do it. " John
hendie
Ced, I hate to mention this in public, but haven't you rolled it 90 degrees to the direction it's supposed to be rolled in? 8

Yep! The notched part that is currently on the bottom left of the curved section should be on the upper left on the straight. We had that horse and his apprentice brothers in the tool-room once, chaos ensued. A large order for our Aerospace Division was seriously compromised but we fed the little bugger some hay and put him out to pasture. And had the drawing office reprise the tech drawings. Fortunate reading of the spec sketches Alan, poor ol' Ced would have been all at sea. Ced by the way, I love how these beasts are turning out. I wonder what we will be reduced to when GG finally leaves our mortal coils? Can't say I am very impressed with E6000 yet. Now there's an idea Robin, thanks Off the Amazon looking for large drill bits… then I realised that not only are they expensive but most have the same shaft size (the non-drilly bit) so they fit in drill chucks. Doh! I did though find some clay cutter sets with round cutters, some sets with round things over 1" diameter. They're only short but should do? And an acrylic sheets and roller. Tempting, but you'll be pleased (and perhaps a bit surprised) to know that I resisted and looked for more 'things' to use as rollers. CedB
I found the Molotow Chrome pens and rolled away: Giorgio's right of course - roll smaller and bend out to fit: Some of the pe fits into the top wing, apparently. I bet that'll be bent to heck before I get there. I've also sprayed the grey - still wet in this shot: Yes, I should have masked the red.
