Fantastic Work!  Although I usually work in 1/72, I do have an Eduard 1/48 Nieuport.     ITs hard not to love the old Nieuport, which I believe is perhaps the most Beautiful of All World War One aircraft.   The Imperial Russian Air Service had Nieuports - and their Engines - built on License at the DUX works - which I believe Was not far from St Petersburg.

Your Dad should do more work in WW1 Aircraft!

Very neat Nieuport indeed, and the finish is impeccable.

Perhaps the control wires might have looked more to scale in a finer dimension, such as www.uschivdr.com/products-in-detail/rigging/. EZ line being flat doesn't quite convince…

Kind regards,

Joachim

Thanks a lot! Yes, it´s a beautiful aircraft and luckily has not much rigging. That´s the main reason my dad doesn´t do more WW1 stuff 😄

Thank you! Already used all kinds of different elastic threads and fishinf line for rigging. For him the easiest to work with is EZ line, although, as you mentioned it isn´t completely round but more flat.

Very nice build!

By the way, pilot of this Nieuport was in fact Donat Makijonek, a Pole (name "Makeenok" is just artificial English transcription of the Russian letters). After the WWI he served in Polish aviation.

Thanks, also for the info!
