Tojo72
I am getting ready to start an Eduard Spitfire Mk.IXc Early Version and I'm not sure of the bottom color. As you can see the instructions say use Gunze C361 Medium Sea Gray.C361 isn't Med Sea Gray,it's Dark Green.Gunze C363 is Med Sea Gray, but it looks pretty dark as do other companies Med Sea Gray. So what color would be correct, instructions say it is an a/c for autumn of 42 with Ocean Gray/Dark Green Top Thanks for any help
Giorgio N
Medium Sea Grey is correct for this scheme. Can't comment on the Gunze paint as I've never used this.
gingerbob
I think "Spitfire Bottom" is what I'd suffer from if I were a Luftwaffe pilot.
Graham Boak
Medium Sea Gray does have a blue component, which is why it usually appears lighter in b&w photos than it does for real.
alt-92
If you want your MSG to be a bit on the lighter side, Tamiya XF-83 would work.
Seawinder
MSG is quite similar to US FS36270, which is definitely a medium, not light, gray.
Giorgio N
Medium greys like MSG look darker when seen in isolation or with lighter colours (think RAF Phantoms in the air defence scheme) however when seen with darker colours, like on a Spitfire underdurfaces, the look lighter.. the colour however is the same
