Re vamped submarine 1/72nd Hasegawa Beaufighter!!

Recommended Posts

Hiya Folks,

                One of the models rescued from my recently flooded cellar,...... the submersion in freezing cold and dirty water ruined the paintwork after the water got underneath the paint and bubbled in areas,.... it also made the glue very brittle,...... so I decided to have a go at re building the model, replacing some of the missing parts and re painting it in its original RAAF markings,..... here is the WIP;

And here is the finished model;

Nice one. I've reworked a few knackered old models myself and it can sometimes be more satisfying than a straight 'first time' build.

Excellent result there Tony.

Great recovery and the Tiger on the nose adds just a splash of colour to an otherwise sinister looking Beau.

Thanks mate,..... yeah I wanted to save the Tiger,.... that is the only original bit left of the finish and I didn`t have a replacement decal!

Superb rescue Tony.  The singe colour foliage green scheme seems to bring out the almost brutal lines of the Beaufighter.

Thanks Dave,.... yeah the scheme does bring out the brutality of the Beau,... agreed.
