Quick heads up, you may well be aware of this but worth pointing out.

Apparently bogus texts and emails are popping up claiming to be from RM asking for a relatively small payment, in this case £2.99, for the release of a package.

(I'm not sure on this but I believe RM puts a grey card through your door to tell you you have a package you need to pay for. (Does anyone know this for sure?))

The text comes asking you to log onto a website (which has Royal Mail in its title) to pay the fee to release your package...

One came last night, I was suspicious of it so didn't open it, quick Google search revealed it's a phishing scam. However so easily could have as I am waiting on a parcel from China, so beware chaps.

Apologies if I'm "teaching granny to suck eggs" but doesn't do any harm to make folk aware.

Stay safe

I had one of these too. Didn't say how much the payment owing was, but said I should follow the link to make a payment. The link was something like "Royalmail.de1ivery" - the numeral in the title made me sufficiently suspicious to delete the text without following the link.

Cheers,

Had something similar. Another thing to look out for is that the texts often come from mobile numbers!
