Popular Post Tail-Dragon
This is my interpretation of Hubert Polz's JU-87R-2 Stuka while stationed at Tmimi, Libya in 1941. There are few (4, I believe) photo's of this aircraft, so a lot of the scheme is speculative (even the color of the snake!) This is the Hasegawa B-2/R-2 kit, with Three Guys decals (modified and corrected), wing tanks from the Airfix B-1 (why were they included?), and painted with Tamiya acrylics. Hope you like, Colin Build log here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235088834-desert-snake-ju-87r-2-stuka-finally-finished-march-17/ Thanks for looking, Colin Edited March 17, 2021 by Tail-Dragon photo's added 74

Retired Bob
Lovely Stuka Colin, superb model and paint finish. I have the Peddinghaus decals for this aircraft plus the Tally Ho! decal sheet if you want to go retro with the red snake. I built the Hasegawa JU 87B last year for the Stuka GB, my research found that the fuselage bomb trapeze were painted RLM 66 black/grey, you can make that out from the photo of your subject. keith in the uk
Perfect , one of the best schemes the Stuka ever wore , reminds me of the old Revell 1.32nd Stuka box art from years back.
PhantomLover
One of the kits I would love to build someday.. You did a great job on that one! Kind regards, Gerben
Tail-Dragon
Thanks everybody for the comments. Hasegawa kits are usually a treat to build. The decals, however, were a bit of a disappointment. This is a scheme I've always loved since the Revell kit in the '70s. Colin
Tail-Dragon
After re-reading some of my reference material, I realized that the ‘mottle’ on the spinner was most likely “Italian sand”, not RLM 70/71. So, I’m in the process of stripping and refinishing the spinner. … Oh well …
