I wonder if the Wolfpack leak of an A-10 was all a ruse to throw off the guesses for Kinetic’s surprise release announcement.

Ironically he even called the A-10 as going to be a surprise release.

I just have a niggling suspicion it’s going to be Tamiya. They re-tooled the Spitfire mk.1 because the old moulds were inaccurate but a guaranteed seller. Their A-10 is old, raised lines and an A. Prime real estate in the modelling world with no out of the box accurate C available.

The only others I would suspect/like to be potential candidates are Eduard, GWHAFV Club or AMK. Hasegawa have been quiet for years, Academy or Kinetic, could be possible but I would prefer the others to bite.

A super easy to build 1/48 A-10C, with accuracy that will overwhelm! Yes! Yes! Yes!

Found on HLJ. Not sure I’ve seen Platz producing kits in 1:48 before. Could be a typo?

Thank you Greg,

Please note that Platz has agreements with Italeri.

The 1/48th vintage as outdated (link - 1993 !) Italeri's F-14A Tomcat is to be re-boxed in May 2021 under Platz ref. TPA-01

And a 1/48th A-10C is now announced on HLJ with Platz ref. TPA-03

I don't expect a new tool kit but most just a rebox from the Italeri kit (link).

Wait and see.

Calling a rebox a new tool is marketing deception, is it not? Don't manufacturers recognize this lessens their image in customer eyes?

There's an assumption going around that the A6M2b and F4F are Eduard reboxes.

Not sure if that stands up, especially given the info from Gustav Jung of Wolfpack that these are new Academy tools.

Must admit I've been wanting a decent A-10 for some time in 1/48. But most of the ones out there seem to be re-hashed A-10A's that have had extra bits added or re-moulded to make them more like the most recent version of the A-10, but would still have the analogue IP instead of the glass IP that they now have, or would be missing quite a few of the lumps and bumps on the fuselage. This is in addition to still having bumps that shouldn't be there still, or have weapons included that went out with the bathwater from the Ark when Noah threw it out over the side😁
