Boulton Paul Defiant NF 1

Recommended Posts

Afternoon all!

Here is my latest build, the very nice Airfix Defiant in nightfighter mode.

I can heartily recommend this kit as it went together with no fuss and looks the business to boot. It is all brush painted with Revell Acrylics. I used a Yahu IP, Resin seat with harnesses, and paint masks for the canopy/turret.

The aircraft is from 264 Squadron based at Biggin Hill 1940/41.

TFL, Cheers Greg

Excellent - great rendition of one of Airfix's very best.  Good to see someone else using a hairy stick as well - I've never tried brushing acrylics so maybe will experiment sometime.

It's a great kit Bernd, one of Airfix best in 1/48. I hope you enjoy yours.

I used the Yahu instrument panel,  ICM resin seat with belts, and paint masks. All were worthwhile additions. Surface detail is a wee bit sparse. Other than that a great build.

Hi Greg. I hope you are keeping well. Sorry - I missed this the first time round.....spending too much time down in the GB section.

You have produced an absolutely superb Defiant! Very impressive paintwork and finish! Very well done. :worthy:

Kind regards,

Stix

Thanks for the hint. I will have a look after these products.

Yes, close ups of the Defiant show a much more "busy" surface with rivets. Its a bit sad that Airfix did not include them but otherwise its looking really tasty in the box.

Before i start it i should clear my bench a bit.

Cheers

Bernd
