spitfirepr1v
Hi . Does anyone know what the small intake and rectangular vent are for on early Photo Reconnaissance Spitfires mainly PRIC and PRIF ? Is it related to the heating system for the cameras ? Thanks

Thanks The position of the intake and vent are commensurate with providing cooling for the engine driven generator which lies inboard of where the intake is. Extra cooling implies significantly larger output, and the significant change in equipment on the PR Spitfires is the cameras, the most likely high power load required by the cameras would be heating, so I'd say yes, indirectly, this is most likely related to camera heating. 1
spitfirepr1v
Sorry - Toby, I don't use photo bucket and am not use to its ways ! Thanks Dave makes sense. It's an extra detail I've recently noticed on the PR I B C and F types. Richard
