The rear panel will be and is now glued down. The fit wasn't the best.

Cheers,

Alistair

That’s a shame . The engine was amazing. Well, we all know it’s in there right. 🤩

looks like you have overcome the paint woes, she’s looking rather smart. Those Suez stripes will look great.

Thanks Johnny,

If the engine panel had been a better fit I would have left it to be popped off but hey ho. I know what's under it.

I will be clear coating today and then transfers. Not looking forward to the stripes and I know I should paint them but I want to see how they go down.

Cheers,

Alistair

While the hail and snow was falling this morning I got a couple of coats of Aqua Gloss on.

The wings were done as well but the flash obliterated the photos.

This will be left to dry overnight and tomorrow some transfers will be applied.

We'll see how that goes.

Thanks for looking.

Just a small update as this may be all I can do today.

The underside transfers for the Suez Stripes have been laid down.

The transfers are quite thick and this is the state of play after 2 rounds of UMP Extra Strong Solution.

Settling in nicely, the second solution was only just put on so leaving things to dry and then whether it needs another.

Once they are bedded in and dry I'll get the top side done and then start the booms. Could be a long process.

Oh I did the wings as well.

Once they are dry I'll start on the tip tank transfers.

So, I figured out that I could position the fuselage and do some more transfers without damaging the underside.

Everything has had a coat of softener and the tip tanks will need some more but things are looking promising at the moment.

Looking great, Alistair, the Suez stripes look very impressive, as do the wing-tip tanks. Great progress, young man!

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks Mark,

You know how to flatter someone. Haven't been young for a long time but I'll take it.

Again, just caught up on this build Alistair, and looks great.

Decals can be a right pain at times but such is this hobby LOL.

Nearly ready for finals then mate.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

Getting towards the finishing stages I think.

Over the last couple of days I've done a little work with the decals.

I also finished the transfers on the tip tanks and finally painted the fin as until I put the transfers on wasn't certain whether they were Black or Oxford Blue.

More to follow as I'm working on the final tail stripes and the stencils.

Looking very nice with the decals on Alistair, the boom stripes look as though they fit well too.

Great work

Chris

Thanks Chris.

The Boom outer were a really good fit but the inners were obviously designed to go on before the boom cross piece.

Some cutting and manipulating required. Working on that now. 😀

Great job on those inner stripes Alistair,  looks fantastic with all the decals done.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

It's funny how complete ignorance of what might go wrong lets you get away with murder.

Wasn't until I'd cut the decals and had them fitted that I thought about what I'd done., but hey I got lucky.

Not much to update today.

The wingfold pieces were fitted and the just popped in perfectly and then a fresh clear coat was put on to protect the transfers.

I'll let that cook off until tomorrow and might get a wash, work depending.

Cheers,

Alistair
