Israeli F-15D Baz loadouts

Hello all,

I've been researching the Israeli Air Forces F-15D 'Baz' for a planned project. From what I have seen they carry/have carried quite a variation of ordnance on operations, everything from pure A2A, then with a mixture of A2G etc.

There was one particular image, that I can no longer find, of one armed with 1x Popeye, the targeting pod for that,  2x Python 4/5, 1x Sparrow, 1x AMRAAM, 1x fuel tank and a jamming pod of some sort.

Would anyone have any other obscure load outs for them? Any pictures would be great.

Cheers

Dave

I researched the 'Baz', a few years back for a future build, and although I managed to accrue all the bits, it ultimately didn't happen and I sold everything off as a single lot.

Is this picture you saw

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DUybAZUXcAEOfJ0?format=jpg&name=large

The ECM pod is the Elta 8212/8222 and would probably be on the Fast Pack(CFT's), port rear station in the above pic, although I've seen them more often on the front port station.

Then there's this one

https://cdn.jetphotos.com/full/2/98672_1241468936.jpg

AGM-142 Have Nap on the Starboard(nothing else could be carried on the shoulder pylons when this was mounted)

Data Link pod on Centreline

Port Fast Pack rear station looks like an ELTA 8212 ECM pod

Port wing inboard shoulder pylon Python 4(maybe a 5)

Port wing outboard shoulder pylon Python 3( note the extended adapter rail to allow clearance of the rear fins on the missile)

Port wing pylon, standard drop tank

Paragon Designs used to do all of the above, but since they've gone out of business I'm not sure who does what nowadays?

Note that the Fast Pack CFT's are different from those found on the F-15E/I, but they can be found in Hasegawa's early F-15E Strike Eagle kit.

Since around about 2010, the Baz's started to appear with the R2D2 radome behind the canopy, some sort of Sat link, not sure if anyone does this in aftermarket.

For the decals I purchased the Isradecal IAF-079 sheet which covers everything.

Regards alternative loadouts.... if it goes bang and is Israeli you'll be fine, other than that JDAM's and GBU's along with AMRAAM's could be used, although I think the Israeli weapons are by far more interesting.

Thanks mate!

I'm looking at the GWH B/D kit and the only thing I haven't been able to find are the CFTs or 'fast packs.' I like the asymmetric load so will go for something mixed, without the CFT.

If you haven't got the GWH F-15B/D yet then this kit would give you the CFT's as it's labelled an E when it's really a B/D.

Does/did the Baz ever operate without the Fast Packs?

There are a few pictures without them fitted:

That’s an ‘A’

You’d probably just be as well getting the Hasegawa F-15E kit, then use the spare cash to get an AM cockpit and exhausts. The Hasegawa kit is a decent kit, just not as an ‘E’.

I think it's possibly an upgraded 'C' but gives an idea that they do fly without the Fast Packs. Was taking a look at the Hasegawa kits and there doesn't seem to be much availability in the UK! Not much less than the GWH offerings either from what I can tell.

Both GBU-15s and Mk-82s were used:

interesting! first time I read about this!

which version of the GBU-15 was the most likely used in the mid 80ies?

I assume the same setup as on an F-4 was used then:
