TonyOD
I need to add a little landing light to a 1/72 helicopter, I've made a recess that I figure I'll line with a bit of foil. If I then fill the hole with CA can I sand and polish it with increasingly fine grades of wet and dry/Micromesh will it come up transparent? Thanks
Black Knight
No it won't, in my experience. If the hole is small use PVA glue. Most PVA dries clear, but it shrinks, so you need to repeat
Cheshiretaurus
Get a UV glue pen and allow it to form a blob, once your happy with the shape, shine the UV light on it. Here's an extract from a P51 build I did, of course the colouring is optional Punch some 1mm discs out of self adhesive aluminium tape and fix them in the light recesses Tiny drop of Tamiya clear colour in each light Followed by a drop of UV cure glue to make the lens.
fishplanebeer
Micro Kristal Clear is also very good at creating clear lights and windows etc.. Looks just like pva and can also be used as a white glue but doesn't shrink and looks nice and clear and convincing when dry. Regards Colin.
