Bbdave
This will be my entry to this one. I hope to build this OOB other than I'll need a couple of dudes to go in it. Again I know nothing of the subject I just like the look of them. Dave
modelling minion
Very nice Dave, to my mind the OA-4M and TA-4KU are the best looking of the two seat Skyhawks. Doesn't matter if you know nothing of the subject or not as long as you enjoy the build and the GB and if you need any answers I am sure that somebody will be able to help out. Being a re-box of the Fujimi kit this one shouldn't give you too many problems as they are a nice build.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
I dream of having this or the 1/48 Monogram OA-4M. I missed out on these when they dropped so can only admire youre build.
Bbdave
I opened the box this morning quite surprised to find two front ends canopies etc. I guess they box both kits the same and supply different decals. This one may be next on the bench as it looks fairly straightforward . Dave
modelling minion
Very nice, I like the look of the green and grey and judging from your title it is the one you are going to build.

Dave In the bottom right of the sprue picture, I spy with my little eye a pair of TERs and a pair of MERs, which I suspect are included as standard in all the Fujimi (and thence Hobby 2000) A-4 kits.
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Nice!, I built the original Hasegawa boxing over 30 years ago (not up to my current standards), looking forward to seeing how you go with it
Bbdave
I made a start with this today I'm building OOB I need a nice straight forward build my mojo has wained a little in recent weeks so this will be a new one for me with the wheels down not my favourite way to look at planes. So the cockpit bits go together not many parts. Dave
modelling minion
Those cockpits look very nicely detailed Dave, especially for 1/72 scale. Hopefully this kit will be a nice trouble free build and will help you get your mojo back.
Bbdave
Seat got painted up using best guess from Google etc. I have a new very fine brush which made things so much easier they should look ok through the glass. Dave
modelling minion
Very nice Dave, both cockpits are looking really good and the seats have been very well painted, your new brush was definitely worth the investment.
Bbdave
She's coming together slowly I'm not getting much time at the moment but enjoying the little bits I'm spending at the bench. Dave
modelling minion
Well you may not have had much time at the bench but you have made very good use if the time you have had Dave. She has taken shape very well, not much more to do until the build is completed.

Anatol Pigwa
Very cool indeed. Is there a particular reason you painted the base of the hump black?

No not at all, im no expert and just thought there might be a chance that it might be visable through the canopy looking back. 1 hour ago, modelling minion said: Well you may not have had much time at the bench but you have made very good use if the time you have had Dave. Bbdave
A little progress i sprayed the undersides and masked off and got the first colour on top I'll wait a few days before masking for the green. Then I'll get the undercarriage done I guessed it would be easier to paint before fitting it. Are the tank rocket pods etc. the same colour as the undersides? Jabba
That has gone together very well, nice to see it with paint on.
modelling minion
That looks like a lovely smooth coat of paint Dave. The rocket pods would be white whilst I believe the tanks will be in the same colour as the undersides.
Bbdave
I have the green on, slight issues as the decals bridge the two colours and are printed with green and grey backgrounds so the masking of the join between the colours needs to be fairly accurate its all best guess and fingers crossed they are somewhere close. Other than that its still a straight forward build. Dave Edited April 19, 2021 by Bbdave
modelling minion
Very nice Dave, those colours look great. The problem when painting a scheme such as this is the correct placing of the demarcation line between to ensure that the muti-coloured decals align properly, never an easy task.
