I guess I'm the first through the door 🤪...It's been an honour and pleasure gents...truly it has.  I look forward to viewing the gallery as it fills up!  😀

I recommend this Airfix kit to any skill level of modeller.  It's an excellent kit with few issues (sprue gates) and builds up into a neat looking model.  There are plenty of aftermarket decals and bits out there so you can really juke it up if you want.  Mine was straight OOB and that suited me just fine.  My WiP is here...

And here are some images.  I apologize...I have no carrier deck background.

Here is my first take on the Skyhawk: the lovely Italeri kit. While it may not be good as the Arfix or Fujimi offering it still offers great value for money, and a quick and  easy build. I suggest to seek out either the Revell rebox; or get some nice AM decals,.

Hello. Here are my first (I do believe that I'll be making a second one) Skyhawk. Its has been a joy making it, and I am pleased with the result :) It is Italeri's older model in 1/72 scale (from 1988) build OOB as a OA-4M H&MS 12.

RAN A-4G, N13-155062, number 875 VF-805 (aka 805 Sgd) HMAS Melbourne.  This aircraft was lost on 2 October 1980, engine failure on launch sent it into the Andaman sea with the pilot ejecting.

1/72 Hasegawa with decals from CTA sheet  No. 7 “Aussies over the seas“ 2019 edition.

Here is Lt Cdr Blenner-Hassett about to set off on 875’s very short last flight:

Royal Australian Navy A-4G (early scheme).

This is the 1/100 Tamiya kit, which I have built OOB, apart from using aftermarket roundels.

The build thread is here.

Inspired by a certain photograph, I decided to build the aircraft 'wheels up'.

Douglas A-4KU Skyhawk Kuwaiti Air Force Operation Desert Storm 1991

Built from the excellent Hasegawa 1/48 A-4M with the few minor tweaks done to turn it into a KU, a real pleasure to build with no issues at all. Quickboost seat, guns and intake blanks. Gunze, Aeromaster and Lifecolor paints. Decals from the spares box and kit for stencils.

I'm done! I enjoyed this build straight OOB I impressed myself doing a 1/72 i think the best job yet.

I'm still learning so next time check decals before spraying camo pattern and remove dust from inside the cockpit 😬.

An Interesting restoration project ,of a 20+ year old build and backdating to an A-4C/D. Many parts were lost since original dis-assembly 6 years ago. Those parts were either 3-D printed or made from spares and/or Rod and sheet or in the case of the cockpit

Aires Resin Cockpit with Bang seat for the Hasagawa kit. Deacals were from Aeromaster 1/48  Early Scooters A-4D-2(A-4B) BuNo 142420 VA-12 CAG U.S.S. Essex in the Early 60's

One from the stashed kit, almost headed to the trash bin...

Hasegawa 1/72 A-4E Skyhawk VMAT-102

Mostly OOB, MER and bombs from other kit (I forgot), the stand came from Hasegawa F-35 kit.

Here's my 1:48 Haseg A-4M Lowiz of the VMA-311Tomcats

It's a kit that I know well, having assembled it three times, so there were no surprises, which allowed me to detail and modify some elements. So, the Hell hole has been represented with the hatch open and the elevator flaps in the upright position. The cockpit and the nose gear bay are Aires elements that I would not recommend to any modeler not equipped with powerful explosives, despite their finesse.

Replacing the slat supports with Eduard PE elements with some added details will be now a must for my future scooter kits (some are (very) close to my workshop table)

In short, i had a lot of fun painting this grey and grey livery and trying to make it lively as  i got a lot of fun participating in this Group Build
