Bruce Archer
Hi All! I have some more Lynx questions... 1-What is the difference between the Lynx HAS2 and HAS 3? 2-What color is the blue found on the HAS2? The grey found on the HAS3? 3-What color is the Olive green on HA.1s? 4-What color is the French Lynx' AH.3? Thanks! Bruce
wellsprop
I may be able to help (or not) with the first question. Basically, it depends what mod standard of the HAS3 you are concerned about. The HAS2 was the initial production version with wheels, normal blades and Gem 2 engines. The Has 3 had Gem 42 engines, and depending on which version/time also has FLIR various upgraded electronics/avionics, defensive aid system and BERP rotors. It would depend on which aircraft and at what time you wanted to model. Regarding the paint colours, I will see if I can dig out the colour scheme drawings (although I have a feeling they are hard copy only so I may be unlikely to find them!). Giorgio N
2) the first scheme on the HAS.2 was overall Oxford Blue 105. This was then replaced by a scheme in overall Dark Sea Grey 638. Later a new scheme was inttoduced, that IIRC was on most HAS.3, in overall Medium Sea Grey 637. All numbers are from BS381C. 3) the green on the AH.1 depends on the scheme: first was in green and black and for this it was Olive Drab 298. In the later green/grey scheme it was Olive Green 220, with Medium Sea Grey. Again all numbers indicate the colours in the BS381C standard. Bruce Archer
Thanks for the information. A late friend sent me an index for Scale Aircraft Modeling (SAM) and I found that SAM did an Aircraft in Detail for the Lynx. And better yet I have the issue! Thanks again guys!
