Gimme Shelter
This is fully lit inside but sadly I was in a rush between a house move when I photographed this and it remains boxed up and stored. I will picture it properly illuminated soon. The Squids eyes have been drilled out and a back-lit glass eye put in as a replacement, The diorama is supposed to look like its a good few leagues under the sea but not quite 20,000 as it would probably be pitch black down there that far! I am not sure if I am actually happy with this completed diorama but the model itself came out as desired using Alclad II Candy Crush and their Metalic colour range. For anyone familiar with the kit, only the top section of the squid is supplied so I had to make the remainder of the Squid's body for this diorama. The shot below also shoes the moulded vinyl squid eye which was then drilled out and had a bulb fitted in the recess before a glass eye being added. The Squid with it's illuminated eye in it's test colours.
