Popular Post AliGauld 2,583
This one was personal. We used to get most of our AEF at Lossiemouth when I was in the Cadets and whilst this was mostly Chippie based, one glorious summer Sunday we got a long flight in this Grey Lady. Still one of the most memorable times I had in my youth. Some aftermarket added - Eduard Cockpit set and Brassin Resin Wheels. Xtradecal Shackleton Pt.1 Transfers The crew ladder was purloined form the Airfix MR.2 kit Primed with UMP Grey. Painted with Colourcoats Dark Sea Grey, Interior Green, Matt White, Light Aircraft Grey and Medium Sea Grey Tamiya Nato Black, Rubber Black, Gloss Red, Clear Red and Clear Green. Mr. Hobby Dark Iron Molotow Chrome. Washed with Citadel Nuln Oil, Seraphim Sepia and Flory Dark Dirt. Finished with Windsor & Newton Satin and Matt varnishes. WIP here So on with some pics. Thanks for looking and as always any comments and criticism welcome. Cheers, Alistair 76

Spitfire31 2,487
A magnificent Shackleton! And who can resist 4 X contrarotating Griffon-powered props? The concerto during take off must be a symphony to savour… Excellent modelling, and that open door with the ladder gives life and presence to the giant. Kind regards, Joachim

The sink is about the only place big enough to photograph her comfortably. 12 minutes ago, Spitfire31 said: A magnificent Shackleton! And who can resist 4 X contrarotating Griffon-powered props? TheyJammedKenny! 1,767
Alistair: that's really beautiful! It's such an impressive build, I'd say it needs a bigger display base! Your existing base seems better suited to those WWII single-engine piston types.

Beermonster1958 381
Excellent job. The Revell kit was a delight to build unlike the the Airfix MR 2. The Airfix kit fought me all the way and, had to be beaten into submission. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely model when built but, not an enjoyable experience. I haven't yet built the Revell MR 3 but, I'm hoping it will be as trouble free as the AEW 2 John
