Revell 1/72 Avro Shackleton - WL747 "Florence" 8 Squadron RAF Lossiemouth 1979

Recommended Posts

A magnificent Shackleton! And who can resist 4 X contrarotating Griffon-powered props? The concerto during take off must be a symphony to savour…

Excellent modelling, and that open door with the ladder gives life and presence to the giant.

Kind regards,

Joachim

That's a really cool looking model (and sink :P)

Thanks very much.

The sink is about the only place big enough to photograph her comfortably.

Thank you very much.

It is one of the most magnificent noises in the world.

Excellent job, does anyone make air cadet figures to go round her?

Don

Thanks very much.

If they do I hope they have scale sick bags to make things as real as possible.

When we came off there were a lot of green faces about

Cheers,

Alistair: that's really beautiful!  It's such an impressive build, I'd say it needs a bigger display base!  Your existing base seems better suited to those WWII single-engine piston types.

Thanks so much.

The base is just the one I use for photographing stuff to make it easier to move without breaking anything.

Excellent job.

The Revell kit was a delight to build unlike the  the Airfix MR 2.

The Airfix kit  fought me all the way and, had to be beaten into submission.

Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely model when built but, not an enjoyable experience.

I haven't yet built the Revell MR 3 but, I'm hoping it will be as trouble free as the AEW 2

John

Thanks very much.

I think I got the Friday afternoon version of this. She didn't fight me all the way but put up a fair struggle at the start.

Cheers,

Alistair
