Hi,

My second finished model from this year, still the line of French machines, which are the mainstream of mine last year perhaps. This the trainer Hanriot H.232 C. A series of 40 of them were produced for French Air Forces as a trainer for Breguet 693/695. Next 22 were ordered by Finland but it was cancelled. However, after fall of France in 1940 campaign 3 of them were delivered to Finland having numbers HT-191, 192 and 193. The HT-192 was lost during delivery flight. The last was withdrawn after the end of WW2.

The model is done from Azur kit (there is provision for French, German and Finnish HT 191, I did HT 193), some extra detailing is done by scratch.

Here she is:

Another unusual offering, Jerzy. Well done.

Many thanks! It was waiting in stash more than 20 years. Good new is that Azur re-issued it in 2014, so perhaps some are still available :)

BTW - interesting that I never seen any photo of H232 in Vichy colors.

Great job. Interesting subject, I've not seen one made up as a Finish example, but then, is there a plane the Finish didn't use.:hmmm:

Thanks! regarding your question - Hmm - A Lancaster perhaps?! :)

Indeed, Finland desperately was searching any valuable machines to fight with some 25 times bigger enemy... And as a result had an unique melange of Allies and Axis countries machines, from both sides rather not the newest possible. Moreover, the obsolete types as Morane 406, Curtiss 75 or Buffalo were still the first line types in 1943 or 1944! And they had successes. From Germany they did not get any Fw 190, only Me 109G, Do 17 and Ju 88 A. Really, not the strongest types.

But this was not the Finns who changed sides, but Soviets, who starts on side of Germany and then became (rather unwilling that) the most important ally of western Allies...

This is mine 12th Finn on shelves...

@JWM can you tell where you find this information related to 22 planes? Sounds quite large number for Finland for twin engine training.

Br. Vesa

It is said in instruction, have a look on it here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Azur-1-72-scale-Hanriot-H-232-French-Bomber-trainer-OOP-011-1997-Unopened/114529939258?hash=item1aaa842f3a:g:QNIAAOSwcLxYDtYs I took it for truth. Maybe it is wrong.

The 22 is a number of Hanriots captured intact by Germans. On the other hand in Wiki it is said, that France was considering during Winter War sending 25 Hanriots to Finland.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanriot_H.230
