John, where have you been? One of the most significant Sci Fi films ever. Shame on you @Bullbasket

And if the film itself doesn't grab you, then the Vangelis soundtrack certainly should.

Plus, you get a choice of three different versions. The original British release with the Harrison Ford voice over (My fave)

The American release, (no voice over) or the Directors cut (no voice over) with additional scenes.

And here is the final scene, Rutger Hauer....

Matt, here endeth the hijack. Sorry, just preaching the word to the heathens!

So that's what it means. Pete @Pete in Lincs uses it as his signature, and I'd always wondered about it's significance.

It's a reference to a short piece of dialogue between Deckard and Rachael when they first meet in the film -

Rachael - "Do you like our owl?"
Deckard - "It's artificial?"
Rachael - "Of course it is."
Deckard - "Must be expensive."
Rachael - "Very. I'm Rachael."
Deckard - "Deckard."

The line "Of course it is." seems harsh and abrupt, but Rachael is simply hinting at the rarity, scarcity of real animals in the future world of Blade Runner, the Owls are now man made, artificial.

With a simple cup of tea, I was referencing back to when I first started the Grizzly build, ;)

Got it! I have actually seen the film, but it was sooooooo long ago, and with my memory, things vanish into thin air. Being a fan of electronic music, TD, JMJ and Vangelis, I have got most of their stuff. But I'll look at Pete's signature, knowingly now.

And there's me thinking it has something to do with Harry Potter!

Excellent work Cerberus. Scale engineering at its best 👍

Interestingly Vangelis used to be in a kind of prog rock(ish) band with Demis Roussos, who was the bass player surprisingly ! ( and looked like you'd expect of the era and genre)

I preferred him like that I have to say rather than the crooner in a dress persona !

Blade Runner, another fillum I must now find and watch again as it's come up in conversation , cheers Pete ! 👍

Thank you for the kind comment Steve, and Harry Potter did have Owls, they delivered the mail I think? :)

And, If you watch Blade Runner, there is one piece of music that is used quite a lot in the film, which is called Tales of the Future, and the vocalist for Tales of the Future is.... Demis Roussos, It's a small world ;)

I think Aphrodite's Child is the prog rock (ish) band that @Pig of the Week was referring to... these guys, all looking very crazy 60's and 70's 😎

Aphrodites+Child.jpg

But anyway, I am still working on this, I just haven't done anything for a while, Easter weekend, bank holiday sunshine (for once) spring has sprung at long last, that kinda thing, I've been gardening in the nice weather, I like a bit of gardening, It relaxes the soul and destroys your back in equal measure ;)

Polish+Grizzly.jpg

A nice Grizzly in the garden, next to a flower bed, that's not something you see everyday, I think this is the Polish war museum, but not sure, but anyway, I'm working on the drivers and gunners vision hoods on the cast hull, doing some reshaping work and generally making a mess of a perfectly good Tasca hull, so hopefully an update soon (ish)

I have to say having checked them out I rather like Aphrodite's Child now.!

Which country is that Polish war museum in ( if not Poland, doh..)?..

be handy if it was in UK as it would make a great research visit for your project..

If you put this on a diorama you could have four cavalry next to it 😉

It would be one hell of a crazy diorama that's for sure, the four horseman of the apocalypse, a three headed dog, the hound of Hades (Cerberus) A Grizzly tank called Aphrodite's child, because why not, lol, plus I'd have to fit a cat called Snuggles in there somewhere, because, well, reasons... 🤣

Nice vid btw, your a star ;)

They made an entire album out of bible prophecy, the book of revelations, and then called it 666, there's a reason 60's music has a reputation for being drug fuelled, lol ;)

The Grizzly in the picture is at the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw, and the Grizzly that was at Bovington has gone to Vienna I think, which I still plan to visit one day, It's on my list of things to do, here's another picture of the one in Poland, at least I think it's the same one, just they moved it a bit.

You and 'yer Demis Roussos...I was singing Aphrodites Child "it's 5 o'clock" driving about in the motor today ( tho i couldn't do the high squeaky bits like Demis ! )

At least it took my mind off the previous "on the brain" thing I was doing the previous week..."Captain Scarlet "... :)

"just drinking wine and eating cheese"

They were all drinking wine and eating cheese at the War and Peace Revival/Festival in 2015, and then someone fired up a Sherman so they all decided to go for a spin round the showground on the engine deck, as you do... and @Bullbasket might like this, he likes the sound of tank engines getting fired up ;)

Well page 5 has turned into a Youtube and ref picture page, so I'm just gonna spam stuff until I hit the next, then get back to some modelling, hopefully...

Especially when it's a big radial aero engine.

BTW. I take it you can't sleep either. 05.30 your time, but I've been up since 4am. Still, it's given me time to write up my bit on the Kangaroo.

Hannibal The Cannibal

And here's the star of the above Youtube vid in picture form, and very nice pictures they are indeed it has to be said, these are the kinda pictures that tend to inspire you to build something Sherman M4A1 related because it's such a good looking tank (in my opinion) Plus they remind me that I still haven't worked out which way the tracks should be fitted yet...lol, three notches up, or three notches down, when viewed from the front, on the sprocket, I'll maybe work it out one day...

It's even got the horn/siren/thing fitted inside the guard on the front of the hull, with the electrical cable going to the hole in the hull just above the track guard.

And one last Vid, which is a walkround of a Sherman M4A1 Grizzly called Robin Hood and some Skink info, this one was owned by the Tank Museum at some point, but got swapped for something, and was also used as a range target for a while so has some damage as a result, but it's still a good walkround, and Robin Hood looks good sitting high up on it's plinth.

 Right, that's this page done...
