Harry_the_Spider
I'm building the Easter Express boxing of the 1/72 Martin Maryland. The kit comes with stencils, but no instructions as to where they should go! Any ideas for 5, 9 & 10?
alt-92
At a guess, 6x data stencils (10) - props? 8 - look to be standard roundels for a Vichy version. 5 - fuel tank? Another option might be having a look at the Special Hobby kit instructions for the Maryland. https://www.cmkkits.com/en/aircraft/maryland-mk-i-ii/ > instruction pages
Harry_the_Spider
Thanks. I've just edited my mistake. 5,9 &10!
72modeler
@Harry_the_Spider, decal 10 are for the fuel tank fillers on the upper wings; decal 9 are not prop stencils- see linked photos below; decal 5 is a puzzler- it might be the port for replenishing the onboard oxygen supply. Best I can do- sorry! Mike Here is a link to some nice period Maryland photos that won't answer your decal questions, but might be useful for modeling details. https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/uk/raf/maryland/1st-martin-167f-sep39/
Harry_the_Spider
Fuel fillers eh? Good call! On the 1/48 version the fillers are detailed in the wing. I'll use that as a reference.

dogsbody
I wonder if Decal 5 might be the plug-in location for a ground battery/generator connection? Chris
Harry_the_Spider
No 10 solved! Fuel fillers on the wings that correspond with the panel lines on the 1/48 scale kit. https://warthunder.com/en/news/5361-development-martin-167-a3-american-mercenary-en?page=5
